I’ve been working with my Instagram reps for several months now and since I have a lovely new blog on this new website, I thought it would be a great idea to utilize it and share some more info on my reps!
If you’re not familiar with the rep concept, many business host “rep searches” to invite people to come represent their brands, usually on Instagram since a picture is worth a thousand words. At the end of the rep search, the company selects people that they want to send their products to in order to help spread the word to a larger/different audience and usually provide them with a coupon code to share with their followers.
Today on Get to Know the Reps is Alison from @crimeofrhyme! I’m so honored to have Alison as one of my reps! I’m always in awe of her natural, soothing photos and each one is always stunning! Check out the Q&A below with Alison to get to know a bit more about her!
Name: Alison (@crimeofrhyme)
Tell us a little about yourself and how you got started on #bookstagram! I’m Alison, I’m 21 and an English major. I started #bookstagram about 2 years ago as a sort of accident. I thought that I’d create one for fun because I love reading and discovered the existence of the community a while back. I had zero motivation for keeping up with blogs and such back then so I honestly thought that I’d shut down my account or forget about it after a week. But two years later, here we are!
What’s your Instagram photo style? Do you have a feed theme? I like uncluttered, clean, calming photos that bring out the essence of a moment. I don’t have a theme but I like having white in my photos and tons of natural light.
Where do you get your photo ideas? (Current reads, book mail, photo challenges?) Pretty book covers and just the overall beauty of books. Books are beautiful, period.
Where do you take the majority of your photos? In my room, although I wish I lived somewhere with mountains and woods because I’d love to take more outdoor photos!
What’s your favorite photo prop? Besides books? Haha. Tea/coffee mugs and candles!
What’s your greatest bookstagram accomplishment or the coolest thing to happen to you through Instagram? Definitely meeting book-lovers all over the world who have introduced me to amazing books that have changed my life. And everyone is so friendly, it really makes me proud to be such a bookworm.
Do you have a favorite photo that you’ve taken? That’s so hard because I’m my biggest critic (and have posted close to a thousand photos and have probably forgotten some of them!) This isn’t my favorite, but one I love. It was taken on a cold Winter day while I was on vacation in Australia, and I wandered the city myself and stumbled upon this amazing cafe. I spent the entire afternoon there reading and the view of the trees was so pretty.
What’s one bookish or photo goal that you hope to achieve in the next year? Maybe a cosplay of an ACOTAR/TOG character? I have no idea! When the inspiration hits, I’ll know! 🙂
Favorite Novelly Yours candle? Ohhhh this is so hard! I love every single one that I have so far and still have so many I want to try! But out of the ones I have, I think I’ll go with either Gansey or Fantasy Beasts. They have outdoorsy, herbal scents that have an underlying sweetness and it’s just so amazing.
Where else can we find you on the web? (If any?)
