I’ve been working with my Instagram reps for several months now and since I have a lovely new blog on this new website, I thought it would be a great idea to utilize it and share some more info on my reps!
If you’re not familiar with the rep concept, many business host “rep searches” to invite people to come represent their brands, usually on Instagram since a picture is worth a thousand words. At the end of the rep search, the company selects people that they want to send their products to in order to help spread the word to a larger/different audience and usually provide them with a coupon code to share with their followers.
First up on Get to Know the Reps is Kori from @_livelaughread! Kori was one of my first-ever reps back when my company was just a baby and I just couldn’t let her go after the first round! We ended up talking a lot throughout her time as my rep and we’ve grown to form a lovely friendship from this business partnership! Tell us a little about yourself and how you got started on #bookstagram! I’m Kori, from the US, and a huge nerd! I started my account in February 2016 for two reasons. For one, no one in my family/friend group likes to read, but I knew I wanted to meet fellow book nerds around the world! It’s always more fun to read books with people who love reading as much as I do. Second, I’ve always loved photography! Getting to combine two things I’m passionate about has been amazing.
What’s your Instagram photo style? Do you have a feed theme? I’d say my theme is mostly bright, colorful flatlays. With the occasional shelfie and a whole lot of candle pictures. I love rainbows!
Where do you get your photo ideas? (Current reads, book mail, photo challenges?) Oh gosh, what a tough question! I currently have over 250 post-able photos in my camera roll… so it seems I never run out of photo inspiration! But I host a monthly photo challenge, so that helps a lot. Then we have current reads, my never-ending stream of book mail (my addiction to Amazon and Etsy is REAL). And sometimes it’s just whatever I feel like it! Or my current obsession. And bookish rainbows.
Where do you take the majority of your photos? I take them on the floor of my room. I found some old wood from a palette that I lay out as my background!
What’s your favorite photo prop? I think I’d say my Christmas Lights. They make any picture look better!
What’s your favorite book or series? Throne of Glass by Sarah J Maas and The Bone Season by Samantha Shannon (but I feel bad for my other favorites so I’ll list those real quick… The Scorpio Races, A Court of Mist and Fury, Shades of Magic trilogy, Outlander, An Ember in the Ashes, the Winner’s trilogy, alllll of Colleen Hoover’s books… Okay, I’ll stop now!)
What’s your greatest bookstagram accomplishment or the coolest thing to happen to you through Instagram? COLLEEN HOOVER FOLLOWS ME. She’s my second favorite author ever. Not only does she write amazing books, but she’s also an amazing human! Which makes me love her even more. So I’d say that’s pretty cool. But getting to be a rep for some of the most amazing bookish companies has been incredible too.
Do you have a favorite photo that you’ve taken? Nope. There are WAY too many. I do really like the one I’ve attached though! It’s my go to.
Who are your bookstagram besties? There are so many incredible people I’ve met through this community, I couldn’t possibly list them all! But some of the ladies that I’m lucky to consider my besties are: @acciobooksncoffee, @deertales, @bookswrotemystory, @lexyolivia, @caylareads, and @thesebooksofmine <3 Oh, and @novellyyours OF COURSE… and I’m not just saying that 😉

What’s one bookish or photo goal that you hope to achieve in the next year? I want to read more out of my comfort zone! Especially some more historical fiction. Mayyyybe some classics, but who knows if that will happen.
